*Note: What is Darwin’s Theory of Evolution? The theory of evolution by natural selection, first formulated in Darwin’s book “On the Origin of Species” in 1859, is the process by which organisms change over time as a result of changes in heritable physical or behavioral traits. Below Iโ€™m also adding a link where you can learn more about the artist, his art is amazing. As always a song, enjoy.

Halcyon Days *

early days of spring,

this fever begins,

settling itself within,

concentration withheld.

watching petals as

they drift past

partially open window.

drifting sweet scent,

borne by early

morning rain

permeates her room.

sunshine breaks,

daydreams

spinning around

thoughts of him.

for her time moves

endlessly slow

until they meet

beneath their tree.

Sunโ€™s Awakening *

her pale silver crested lover

fades, as she wakes,

in his shadowed light,

she no longer lingers

within his cool embrace.

They have circled their

beloved child Earth

since its conception.

once more alone she

simply stretches along

the horizon, body slow to

rise, her eyes open,

casually glances across

distant mountains, bathing

them in warm beams

of light, pastel shades

of softest amber,

pale blue, her mirrored

reflection upon the clouds

as they drift before her.

Morning gloryโ€™s tightly closed

with her nightly departure,

now greet her return. slowly

unravel for her, revealing their

star-shaped blooms

indigo blue,

purple stars

centered,

ivory encircles,

her lovers moist

kiss lingers.

his marks,

reminders

of midnights passion.

Dream Weaver *

The legend of The Dream Catcher has been told by Native American Indians for generations.

The Catcher is created by the hands of the Dream Weaver who is guided by the spirits of darkness and light.

~~~
In the full light of the moon,
within the woods she began
gathering all that was needed.
Upon bended knees she
set about her task, quietly
reciting ancient ritual verses.
Gently bending a willow branch
to form a circle of strength.
Using silken spider thread,
she begins creating a magical
knotted web, there in nights
evil dreams are trapped.
Below the circle she hangs
multiple strands of threaded
feathers, they flutter upon
nights breeze gently guiding
the light of lifeโ€™s beauty
into your dreams.
~~~

Have no fears of evil dreams.

Her talisman will keep them

at bay until mornings light,

so you my sleep peacefully.

*Note: I started this for

The Sue Vincent Rodeo Classic

however I missed the entry date, so it goes. It was indeed hard to write exactly 99 syllables. I find it difficult limiting myself to a specific number of words that can be used. I did succeed with this one but I donโ€™t know if Iโ€™ll attempt another any time soon. I have respect for those that can. The traditional mountain music is unique onto itself, steeped in long history. ๐ŸŒŽโœŒ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ’™ Take care, be safe.
