Sun’s Awakening *

her pale silver crested lover

fades, as she wakes,

in his shadowed light,

she no longer lingers

within his cool embrace.

They have circled their

beloved child Earth

since its conception.

once more alone she

simply stretches along

the horizon, body slow to

rise, her eyes open,

casually glances across

distant mountains, bathing

them in warm beams

of light, pastel shades

of softest amber,

pale blue, her mirrored

reflection upon the clouds

as they drift before her.

Morning glory’s tightly closed

with her nightly departure,

now greet her return. slowly

unravel for her, revealing their

star-shaped blooms

indigo blue,

purple stars

centered,

ivory encircles,

her lovers moist

kiss lingers.

his marks,

reminders

of midnights passion.

Mobius Strip (acrostic)*

Like these endless circling

Unilateral discussions

Keeping us from moving forward

Each in our own corner

Wavering not one bit

Armed with our own

Repeated hurts

Match ends, you’re always the winner

*Note: I like this version of Pat Benatar’s song, hope you do as well.

however I missed the entry date, so it goes. It was indeed hard to write exactly 99 syllables. I find it difficult limiting myself to a specific number of words that can be used. I did succeed with this one but I don’t know if I’ll attempt another any time soon. I have respect for those that can. The traditional mountain music is unique onto itself, steeped in long history. πŸŒŽβœŒπŸ»πŸ’™ Take care, be safe.

The title is taken from the Beatles song: My Guitar Gently Weeping, which reaches deep within my soul. I’ve posted a link to the video, which is an artistic trifecta. Watch, listen, enjoy. 😊 🌎 ✌🏻 ❀️

The Last Time *

Go he’d say

Over and over

~

So many times it was

screamed in my ear,

followed by

his heavy hand

~

Going wasn’t an option

Only if I had listened

In my gut I knew

Nothing would change

Gonna stay just the same

~

So many times

thinking it was love,

deep down

knowing it was fear

~

Gone I’ll be soon enough

Only now finding the courage

Now finding a way to escape

Endng this β€˜love’ charade

~

Finally I obeyed you;

taking my child,

leaving you behind

while you were

out getting drunk.

~

No longer do I

hold my breath;

now I inhale

freedom

deeply.

oh so

sweetly!

*Note: I started this for https://dversepoets.com/2021/02/22/goinggoinggone-poeming/ which was supposed to to be a quadrille using 44 words in all, excluding the title. I found that I couldn’t limit my words, nor my thoughts. So here you have the end result. (On average, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by an intimate partner in the United States. During one year, this equates to more than 10 million women and men. ncadv.org) Yes, there is a song. πŸŒŽβœŒπŸ»πŸ’™ Take care, be safe.
