Darkness before Dawn (tanka/haiku)*

silence deafening~

walking street devoid of life~

memories follow~

shadows now hidden away~

waiting deaths incubus leave

ally nightly fears~

faithful conviction brings light~

unites world in hope~

*Note: I give you this note worthy quote:

It is always darkest just before the day dawneth.” –  Thomas Fuller**

The song choice is Sounds of Silence, however I did not choose the original by Simon & Garfunkel (apologies to the purists out there :).

This rendition by the Pentatonix is beautiful (amazing harmony and individuality of the voices). 🌎✌🏻🀍

** Thomas Fuller was an English churchman and historian. He is now remembered for his writings, particularly his Worthies of England, published in 1662 after his death. He was a prolific author, and one of the first English writers able to live by his pen. Wikipedia

Eugi's Weekly Prompt – Glorious – March 16, 2020

Sunshine (tanka/haiku)*

winsome woman seen~

wind playfully tousles hair~

captivating view~

soft lips, coyly downcast eyes~

skin bronzed by suns glowing warmth

artistic beauty~

created with bold brush strokes~

charismatic charm

*Note: The artwork dictated the song choice. Sunshine Superman preformed live in 1966 by Donovan. I loved many of his songs.

Donovan is a Scottish singer, songwriter and guitarist. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelia, and world music. He has lived in Scotland, Hertfordshire, London, California, and since at least 2008 in County Cork, Ireland, with his family. Donovan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012 and the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2014. πŸŒŽβœŒπŸ»πŸ’›
