Winter Menace (haiku)*

shades of black gray white~

captures winters gloomy day~

evokes foreboding~

*Note: The photo was taken by me, though we don’t get much snow in winter, on this day we did. Winter days can have many faces. When the sun shines, reflecting itself on snowy surfaces it sparkles with beauty. Giving us a sense of peace. Than there is the flip side which I address, an inner feeling of sadness (depression?). The weather like people has its mood swings. The music and video are well suited. I hope you watch it through to the end. πŸŒŽβœŒπŸ»πŸ’™ Take care, be safe.

    1. I’m so sorry 😞 it is a hard thing to do, however our love for them won’t allow them to suffer. I did the same for my kitty last November. πŸ€—πŸ’™

  1. Your Haiku is emotive — and perfectly paired with Ghost Song — that video is haunting, all the way through to the end.

Thank you for you poetry and for introducing me to Max Ablitzer.

    1. Thank you. πŸ™‚ πŸ’™ Funny coincidence that’s a view from the back deck. It’s the chicken coop/storage shed. 😁 I’m sure you get more snow covered days though. β„οΈπŸŒ¨

      1. It depends on the year. In my time here, we have had snow cover from November to April, and other years where we are lucky to have a few weeks.
This year is solid. Snow set in a month ago. Few feet deep, minus 15ish most days at the moment πŸ₯Ά

  2. I feel this foreboding when the sky turns dark and the first fairies begin to fall. There is beauty in the snow but what gloomy beauty! Love the way you capture this mood.
