Silent, disjointed~
Memories clinging to past~
Entangled confused~

*Note: what most people donβt know is that dementia sometimes takes root at a younger age, the signs may not show themselves until middle age. (Below is a link to more information about dementia.) I dedicate this to my best friends mother Juanita (she was like my second Mom, we even shared the same birthday). She was a brilliant woman (she was an integral part in instituting the bilingual program in the Chicago School System) and a much loved teacher by her students. As always a song.
πβπ»π Take care, be safe.

A sad poem, eob! I have two older relatives with dementia, and it is hard on both them and there immediate families. I thought of a different song, though. Sarah McLaughlan’s “I Will Remember You”
“I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories”

Thank you for sharing. Indeed to see it transform a person is hard. My friend and I are happy that her mother remembers and mentally lives in the happiest moments of her life (not always the case for some). I wish I had though of that song. Thank you for sharing it. ππππΌ

My Mum suffered from dementia and relatively young really, it is a terrible process to watch in action. Sad but truthful poem β€οΈ
